Beautiful carved jet graduated bead necklace circa 1860s.
Barrel clasp closure is enclosed in a jet bead.
Each bead is slightly different because they were all hand carved! The necklace is entirely original. It is quite unusual to find one like this, and in such good condition!

Lovely condition overall. A few small cracks and imperfections in the jet, as to be expected. Nothing loose or coming apart. See photos for details.
Some of the beads are knotted in place close to the clasp, but most of the strand is not knotted. There is a bit of space between the beads.
