Fantastic Victorian era brooch circa 1860s-1880s. This style is called pique--tortoise shell which has been heated and molded into shape and inset with intricate gold and silver designs.
The pique is a beautiful, intricate design of flowers and scrolling lines, wonderfully utilizing the contrasting gold and silver.
